Hie Albemarle Poster Con test, sponsored by the Eliza beth City Chamber of Com merce, is a climax to the pos ter contest held in each county. At the county level the contest is sponsored by the Chowan County Board of Soil and Water Conservation District supervisors. A luncheon was held for the students, parents, school officials and others at the Holiday Inn in Elizabeth City. Rod Amundson, editor of the N. C. Wildlife Maga zine, spoke to the group on THE CHOWAN HEBALD, EDKNTON, NORTH CABOUNA, THURSDAY, MARCH 86, UN conservation, mainly dealing with the problems of air pol lution and population explo sion. Judges for the contest were Luther Partin, writer and photographer for N. C. Wild life Magazine, Elmer O. Gra ham, assistant state conserva tionist, Soil Conservation Ser vice and W. W. Stevens, wa tershed coordinator, N. C. State Soil and Water Con servation Committee. Lloyd C. Bunch, chairman of the Albemarle Soil and Water Conservation District, relates the event was one of the most successful yet and expresses his appreciation to the many that made it pos sible through their coopera tion and support.
