m CHOWAN HKRALD, EDENTON. NORTH CAROLINA f BROAD STREET BULLETIN... Br Kmto ■ It’s good to see an old friend, When you’re feeling sort of blue, A friend who’s just the same today, As yesterday and tomorrow, too. She will listen to your heartaches, And help the best she can. Perhaps she’ll say a little prayer, According to God’s plan. For God gives us true blue friends, As through our life we trod, ' But we must be a good friend, too, With a firm belief in God. Friendship means so much to me, especially since I’vo been iIL The prayers, visits and telephone calls came so many times when J reeded them most. So take a chance, call that friend when you think of it. A cheerful “Hi” means a lot. One of my favorite young people graduated from Medi cal School at the University of North Carolina Monday. I know Alex Kehayes will make an excellent doctor. He is; kind and considerate to everyone and is as interested in: •Ole old as well as the young. But considering he’s the son of Toni and Ernest Kehayes, it’s no wonder he’s such a nice person. Many things will hap pen, some cf which is not their fault, but being young and free, they’re so apt to get blamed for much trouble. Give them a job to dc—a busy person hasn’t any time for mischief. The following I’ll ‘share with you, as it is typical of a Mama’s life: FRUSTRATION You make the beds and people come along and sleep in them. You clean the even and then have broiled steaks for dinner. You buy a “drip dry” dress so you won’t have to go to the laundry and the bathroom gets wet. You mop the floor and the mop gets wet. You wring the mop and your hands get wet. You wipe your hands on the towel—and you have to do the laundry anyway. You wash the dishes and put them away and some body says it’s time for lunch. You iron a shirt and some one wears it You threaten to slit your throat and somebody reminds you that it is unwise because we’re having turkey for sup per and who’s gonna wash the knife? IT IS satisfying to do something for somebody! A Few Hints If you use a wooden salad bowl, wipe it clean with a paper towel. Then go over the inside with a piece of bread which will absorb most of the wood. A salt solution helps ban ish blood and meat juice stains. Improbable things which keep on happening: Pouring one’s heart out; floating a loan and seeing eye to eye. ®»69 beRIBM * I EMIW (XT FRYERS 1b. 31c L i i! L JL ■■ FRESH t 4TO 6-LB.
