Here’s the frosting shortcut
of the year! Make a wonder
ful creamy chocolate frosting
with an easy recipe. Then
freeze it for the time you’ll
need to frost a quickie cake
or cupcakes. This will keep
soft and creamy on a cake
for at least three days and, if
frozen, it will keep indefin
itely.'
Creamy Semi-Sweet Frosting
1 pkg. (6 oz.) 'Nestle’s Semi-
Sweet Chocolate Morsels.
y« cup shortening.
V 4 teaspoon salt.
Vi cup evaporated milk.
1 jar (7V4 oz.) marshmal
low cream.
Melt semi-sweet chocolate
morsels and shortening over
hot (not boiling) water. Add
salt; remove from heat. Grad
ually add evaporated milk;
stir until smooth. Let cool,
approximately 10 minutes.
Add marshmallow cream and
beat until smoth. Makes
enough frosting and filling
for a two-layer cake or two
dozen cupcakes. To freeze
turn frosting into container.
Wrap properly for freezing.
When ready to use, let frost
ing stand at room tempera
ture until soft enough to
spread, about one hour.
