Services Provided To 1,029 The Chowan County Department of Social Services provided financial assistance and-or service to 1,029 clients during February, according to a report filed by Ronald M. Huffman, director. The report showed 67 service cases. There were 482 families certified for food stamps and 428 participated in the program during the month. The cases included 1,488 persons. Other statistical information included: Aid to The Aged: 12 cases, $1,561 grant; $130.08 average. Aid to Families With Dependant Children: 129 cases, $18,901 grant.
