Peanut Transfers
Peanut allotments may be
transferred in 1976 by sale
or lease to other farms in the
county. In the event
Congress changes the!
present law, the acreagei ;
might be different from
what it would have beefl
under the law in effect for
1975. Agreements to
transfer allotments must be
filed in the ASCS office by
April 1, 1976.
Cotton Allotment
Producers having a cotton
allotment who do not intend
to plant cotton in 1976 may
release the allotment to the
County Committee.
Producers wanting to plant;
cotton may also request an
increase in their allotment.
April 11 is the deadline for
releasing acreage and
applying for additional
acreage.
Tobacco
The final date to transfer
tobacco acreage is June 14.
However, growers should
attempt to complete their
lease and transfer
agreements as soon as
possible as tobacco
designation for sales by
markets has been set to
begin March 1 and continue
through April 2 and leases
should be completed before
designation. New leases
must be executed each year.
The county ASCS office is
accepting lease and transfer
agreements filed by
producers in the county. The
agreements may be filed in
the county ASCS office on
any working day.
The county ASCS office is
keeping a list of names of
producers who have toabcco
to lease and of producers
who want more tobacco
pounds. Any producers may
look at the lists. A producer
may place his name on
either list by calling or
writing the county ASCS
office.
The discount variety
program for flue-cured
tobacco is being continued
for the 1976 crop. Farmers
will be required to certify •
; whether or not they planted
a discount variety of
tobacco on their farm prior
to issurance of a tobacco
marketing card for the
farm.
Measurement Service
The following rates will
apply for 1976 measurement
services. The charge will
be SI.OO per care plus $4.00
per farm with a minimum
charge per farm of $11.50. If
you want this service please
make your application now.
ACP Program
Requests are currently
being accepted in the
Chowan County ASCS Office
for assistance in carrying
out needed conservation
practices. Interested
farmers should visit the
office and file their requests
before the practice is
started.
Farm Loans
Loans are available to
farmers under the Farm
Storage and Drying
Equipment Loan Program
to help finance the purchase
of approved storage
facilities and drying
equipment. Farms can
borrow up to 70 per cent of
the costs of the equipment
under these loans. Loans
bear interest initially at the
rate in effect on the date of
disbursement and the
interest is subject to
adjustment by CCC during
the life of the loan. The
present interest rate
effective October 1, 1975 is
7.5 per cent per annum.
“What are
those
brown spots
on my hands?”
You may think they’re just big freck
les, or sun spots. Maybe somebody
told you they were “liver spots.” But
they’re most likely age spots
Do you have to put up with age
spots?
The answer is no. You can fade
age spots with Esoterica Medicated
Cream.
Esoterica works because it
goes below the skin surface.
Esoterica stops excess pigmenta
tion, so the spot fades.
If you use Esoterica daily as
directed, you tiwuld see a dearer,
more youthful-looking skin tone in
six weeks.
