On Sunday afternoon,
November 21, Miss Janet

ton, hecame the bride of Mr.
Charlie Alexander, son of

Alexander.
The candlelight ceremony
took place at 3 P.M. in the
Edento Baptist Church with
Dr. Robert Gray officiating.
The church was decorated
in palms with bouquets of
mums, fugi mums and
pompons.
Fred Ashley, Jr., was
soloist accompanied by Mrs.
Mary Smith at the organ.
The bride entered the
church on the arm of her
father. Her gown was white
sheer ganza trimmed with
peau d’ange and venise lace
with a fitted bodice
featuring a sheer scalloped
yoke, high neckline and full

streamers of white pico
ribbon.
The groom had as his best
man Mr. William Spruill of
Edenton.
The matron of honor was
Mrs. Ellen Ludford of
Elizabeth City.
The bridesmaids were:
Mrs. Jimmy Forehand,
Mrs. Jeff Knox and Miss
Bonita Perry.
Ushers for the wedding
were: Messrs. Jerry
Boucher, Charles Britton
and Mike McArthur.
The bride’s mother wore a
gown of forest green velvet
with matching accessories.
She carried a mint green
orchid on top of her purse.
Mrs. Alexander wore a
gown of Christmas green
velvet with matching ac
cessories. Her corsage was
a mint green orchid.
Immediately following
the ceremony a reception
was held in the church
Fellowship Hall. The red
and white them of the
wedding was carried out in
the decoration.
After the reception the
couple left on a wedding trip
to Williamsburg. For her
going away outfit the bride
selected u navy blue three
piece pants suit off-set by a
red and white blouse. She
wore a corsage of white
carnations.
After rehearsal on
Saturday night a party was
given at the home of the
bride.
The couple will make their
home at 20 Hawthorne
Road.

'Wrath Os God’
Is Sermon Topic
At Baptist Church
Dr. Robert E. Gray,
pastor of Edenton Baptist
Church, has selected “The
Wrath of God” as his subject
at the 11 o’clock worship
service on Sunday morning.
Scriptural text will be
Romans 1:18-32.
Special music will be
presented by the Sanctuary
Choir as they render the
“Carol of Christmas.”
At the 7:30 worship,
Brenda Zeigler and Pam
Doyle wll present a program
entitled “Through the Eyes
of a Journeyman: Missions
in Brazil.” Zeigler and
Doyle served as journeymen
in Brazil from 1972 to 1974.
Holiday
Activities
Planned
Center Hill Extension
Homemakers Club met last
Tuesday night at the Center
Hill Community Building.
The meeting was called to
order by the president, Mrs.
H. T. Hollowed. “The Lord
is My Pacesetter” was used
as her devotion and was
followed by prayer.
Mrs. Ann Boyce was guest
of the club and she brought
the lesson on “As We Learn,
We Grow”. In her talk she
stressed the needs and
objectives of Extension
Homemaker Club members
and the opportunities which
are there such as scholar
ships which are avilable for
the youth, if we will just
pass the word along. She
also helped us become
better acquainted with the
Organizational Chart of
extension clubs.
Plans were made for the
annual Christmas Party
which will be at a date to be
announced later.
Finals plans were made
and committees named for
the Old Fashioned Christ
mas which will be an all day
affair on December 8 and
will be a county-wide affair,
with members of other clubs
exhibiting articles for sale
or show.
The Center Hill Extension
Club extends an invitation to
all to come and share in this
Old Fashioned Christmas.
Lunch will be served and
there will be a table of
desserts for sale.
Methodist Youth
To Hold Service
A Youth Service will be
conducted Sunday night at
Edenton United Methodist
Church. The service begins
at 7:30 o’clock.
At the 11 A. M. worship
service. Rev. E. L. Earn
hardt has chosen “The
Innkeeper” as his topic. His
text is Luke 2:7.

Hock Baptist Church. Of

The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Ray
White, Route 3, Edenton.
The bridegroom’s parents
are Mr. and Mrs. Julian
Lassister of Norfolk, Va.
A program of wedding
music was provided by Mrs.
Delores Hollowed, organist.
Mrs. Joyce Snell, cousin of
the bride, was soloist.
The church was decorated
with three candleabras,
green potted plants, and an
arrangement of pink car
nations and white
chrysanthemums.
The bride was given in
marriage by her father. She
wore a floor length formal
gown of white satin with
yoke and chiffon fitted
sleeves appliqued with lace
and an empire waistline.
Her floor length veil of white
tulle was attached to a lace
cap. She carried a nosegay
