Water Ski Club Awarded Sanction Mike Partin, North Carolina State Councilman for the American Water Ski Association, announced today that the Pembroke Water Ski Club of Edenton and the Tar River Ski Club of Wilson have been awarded sanction for the 1977 Southern Regionals. The states that make up the Southern Region are: North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, West Virginia and Kentucky. This is the first time in the history of the Southern Regionals that North Carolina has been host for this tournament. The tournament to be held on August 5,6, and 7, 1977, will take place on a small private lake in Angier, North Carolina. An expected number of 250 skiers will compete in this three day event for qualification to enter the nationals.
