MOUSE PROJECT SATURDAY—Members of the Edenton United Methodist Youth
Fellowship, this Saturday, will conduct a Send A Mouse To College campaign at the shop
ping centers and downtown to raise funds for cancer research at Duke University. Mouse
buttons may be purchased for 50 cents. Among those taking part in the campaign will be
Kathrine Harless, Kelly Sopher, Jill Stutzman, and Fran Hollowed, shown in photo above.

they have contributed 50
cents toward purchasing a
mouse to be used , for
research at Duke University
and UNC-Chapel HUI. This
is the estimated cost of
raising a mouse, putting it to
sleep, performing an
autopsy and staining tissues

This is the fourth year the
MYF group have conducted
the mouse project. “Lets
send many mice to
represent Chowan County
for cancer research,” a
spokesman stated.
All proceeds from the
buttons will be credited to
the Chowan County unit of
the American Cancer
Society.

11 o’clock worship on

At the morning service,

Who Cometh” to be sung by

Lockhart. Mrs. Lockhart is
the former Pat Mooney,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
C.B. Mooney of our church.
The anthem, “Come Unto
Me”, will be rendered by the
Sanctuary Choir.

tism and the Lord’s Supper
will be observed at the 7:30
evening worship. The
candidate for baptism is

another notch! It’s a time
for everyone to express
gratitude to our Creator for
His countless blessings and

marriage.
An outdoor wedding was
solmenized by Dr. Robert E.
Gray, at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Sammy Morris,
uncle of the bride.
The bride’s gown of an
tique white cotten was
fashioned by the mother.
Her only attendant was her
sister-in-law, Mrs. Ken
Worrell, Jr.
Mr. Bunch was his son’s
best man.
Immediately following the
ceremony the couple
greeted the wedding guest,
after which a buffet style
meal was served on the
lawn.

For the third year dance classes are taught three days per week; an enrich- I
ment series for students meets on alternate Saturdays; recitals have been
performed; the first Christmas wassail reception was given by the arts coun
cil; the opera Cinderella was performed for students; public lectures and i
discussions have been held in the court house; art classes were taught last
week in water color and an annual art show and sale is held on the water
front; but they are only a beginning we want to do more! Help us produce—

celebration honoring Mrs.
G.L. Willoughby of Ahoskie,
was held in the Oak Grove
Community House at Rocky
Hock, November 13. She is
sister to Jesse Lane and the
late Jim Lane.
Covered dishes of
delicious meals prepared
and brought by the families
attending.
