(Pete) Thompson of Queen Anne’s Edenton, died Friday morning at 10:20 o’clock in the Winslow Memorial Home after a long illness. A native of Chowan County he had lived in Elizabeth City most of his life. He was the widower of Minnie Markham Thompson and the son of the late Jack Carlton and Elizabeth Sykes Thompson. He served as Pasquotank County Commissioner from 1932 .until 1938 when he was appointed Sheriff of Pasquotank County. He held that office until December 3,1962.
