Page 2-B Death Claims Mrs. Lane, 83 Mrs. Mary Moore Lane, S 3, Route 3, Edenton, died Thursday night at 6:30 o’clock in Chowan Hospital following a long illness. A native of Perquimans County, she was a former resident of Route 1, Hertford. She was the daughter of the late William and Sarah Elizabeth Moore, and the widow of Sidney H. Lane. She was retired from the Don Juan Manufacturing Co. and was a member of the Great Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Marcus (Mary Ruth) Bass, Route 3, Edenton; one son, James Alfred Lane of Chesapeake, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Eva Cooper of Columbia, one brother, Alton Moore of Winfall; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 P.M. in the chapel of the Swindell Funeral Home by Rev. George Broome and Rev. Donald Wagner. Burial followed" in Cedarwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Billy and Carroll Williams, Jimmy Roberts, Mark, Percy, and Warner Bass. Mr. Forehand, 61 Buried Sunday Mack Pruden Forehand, 61,909 Cabarrus Street, died Saturday following an illness of three weeks. He was employed by Albemarle Motor Company. He was a native of Chowan County. His parents were the late P.M. and Susie Speight Forehand and he was married to Mrs. Doris Simpson Forehand, who survives. Also surviving are two sons: Mack Douglas and Wayne Thomas Forehand, both of Edenton; two daughters: Mrs. Avis F. Lee of Edenton; and Mrs. Judy Corprew of Hertford; a brother, Kelly P. Forehand of Chesapeake, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Mattie F. Halsey of Edenton; and four grandchildren. Mr. Forehand was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 3:30 P.M. Sunday in- WiUiford-Barham Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ashby Browder in charge. Burial was in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Carl G. Lane, Herbert Byrum, Harvey Williams, Tom Hopkins, Bruce Jones, Herod Ellis, Troy Toppin and Glenn Perry. Holidays Cut Market Sales Southeastern Section Trading for peanuts grown in the Southeast was inactive due to holidays and generally light demand, especially for mediums. Movement of segregation three pac stock continued. Demand for Number One’s improved but offerings were fairly light. Dealers continued to fill previous export commitments. Virginia-North Carolina Section ln Virginia and North Carolina trading for peanuts was inactive due to holidays and generally light demand, especially for Fancy’s and Mediums. Offerings of Number One’s and Two’s (for Peanut Butter) and Extra Large were light. Export trading was also slow. There were too few sales to establish a market. Southwestern Section In the Southwest, demand .for Valencias was good but demand for Spanish and Runner types was generally light. Trading was moderate for Valencias and inactive for Spanish and Runners. Prices paid per pound for Southwestern grown peanuts sold on an FOB shipping point basis for prompt shipment were for Un shelled Valencias hand picked 35.
