PSAT Schedule Is Released Harold Nichols, counselor at Holmes High School has announced that juniors will be able to join over 1-million other students around the world in taking the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test-National Merit Scholarship Qaulifying Test (PSAT NMSQT) this fall. The test, cosponsored by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation, is an important step in making college plans. Scheduled for Saturday at Holmes High School, the PSAT-NMSQT measures verba 1 and mathematical aptitude -two abilities important in doing college work - and gives students a chance to find out what the Scholastic Aptitude Test iSAT) is like. By taking the PSAT NMSQT. students can enter the competition for scholarships administered by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation and ask to participate in the College Board's Student Search Service, which gives students an opportunity to hear from colleges that they might not otherwise know about. With their score reports, students receive a copy of About Your PSAT-NMSQT Scores, a booklet that contains valuable how-to information about estimating SAT scores. A native of Chowan County, he was the husband of Mrs. Maxine B. Bunch and a son of the late George and Louvenia Bass Bunch. He was a fanner and fisherman. He was a member of Rocky Hock Baptist Church. Other survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Judy Wiggins and Mrs. Sandra Roberson, both of Route 3, Edenton; two sisters: Mrs. Pansy Asbell of Suffolk, Va.; and Mrs. May belle Cooke of Whitakers; four brothers: Clarence Bunch and Henry Bunch, both of Route 3, Edenton; Albert Bunch, Route 1, Edenton; and Paul Bunch of Tyner; and one grandchild. A funeral service was held Wednesday at 2:30 P.M. in Rocky Hock Baptist Church by Rev. Don Wagner. Burial was in Beaver Hill Cemetery. The secretary may in crease the quota if for any marketing year be deter mines estimated requirements for domestic edMe use and a reasonable carryover will require additional production. Under the 1979 peanut program, the national acreage allotment and the poundage quota were established at the legal minimums of 1.614,000 acres and 1.396,000 short tons, respectively.
