Page 2-B Accepted At Chowan MURFREESBORO - Kimberly Ruth Ober of Edenton, N.C. and a senior at Chowan High School has been accepted for ad missions to Chowan College for the fall semester beginning August 24, 1960. Chowan College is a two year, co-educational, residential college. For students wishing to pursue the baccalaureate degree in senior colleges and universities. Chowan College offers thorough educational opportunities in most professional fields- Students whose formal education will not extend beyond the associate degree can enter the world ofwork in business, accounting, secretarial administration (legal and medical), merchandising manage ment, news-writing, advertising, printing technology, photography, and communications art. Chowan College has an enrollment of ap proximately 1,050 students representing 25 states and 14 foreign countries. Chowan offers opportunities in 12 professional fields: business, English, fine arts (music and art) graphic arts, photography, health and physical education, language, mathematics, religion and philosophy, science, and social science. Services Held For Mrs. Cayton Funeral services were held last Thursday at Williford-Barham Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Estelle Vanehorn Cayton, 68, of 500 Elliott St., who died Tuesday, March 4, in Chowan Hospital following an extended illness. Rev. E. C. Alexander officiated and burial followed in Beaver Cemetery. A native of Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Stewart Vanehorn and the late Carrie Jones Vap' iom. She was the wife of Rev. Preston Cayton, who sur vives, and was a retired employee of Edenton Cotton Mill. She was a member of First Christian Church. Other survivors include: three sons, Rodney Cayton, Carl Cayton and Jamie Cayton, all of Edenton; six daughters, Mrs. Geneva Gadow of Chesapeake, Va., Mrs. Page Tucker of Suf folk, Va., Mrs. Jean Corbett of Currituck, Mrs. Faye Hampton, Mrs. Syble Harrell and Mrs. Joan Rudd, all of Edenton; two brothers, Vance Vanehorn and Reginald Vanehorn, both of Chesapeake, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Vanehorn of Norfolk, Va. and Mrs. Marie Foster of Erie, Pa.; 20 grandchildren and two great grand children. Pallbearers were Thomas Harris, Shelton Rogerson, Payne Twiddy, Larry Harris, Fred Ashley, Sr., and Sam Sawyer. Biblical Program Slated The Creswell Community Choir will sponsor “50 women of the bible” at St. Mark’s A.M.E. Zion Church March 16, 1980 at 5:00 P.M. The public is invited to come.
