Race registration forms may be obtained by calling Jay Woglom, 482- Overpayments Are Recovered RALEIGH The state Employment Security Commission reported Tuesday that its anti-fraud unit recovered $113,677 in unemployment insurance overpayments during March. The unit also investigated 210 persons during the month and found that 161 of them had been overpaid a total of $48,024. Thirty-five of those cases, involving a total of $19,264, were classified as fraud. Non fraud overpayments discovered in March totaled $28,760. Os the overpayments recovered by the unit during the month, $90,548 was obtained by withholding payments to eligible unemployment insurance claimants, while $23,129 was recovered through refunds to the commission from recipients of overpayments. All 25 persons tried for fraud in the state’s courts during March were con victed, the commission reported.
