Educational Act) Advisory
Councils, now in the process
of reorganizing in Edenton
t'howan Schools are formed
and operated.
ESEA Parent Advisory
Councils (PAC) are com
posed of parents, lay
citizens and teachers of
students who receive in
struction in reading and
math above that received in
the regular classrooms.
There are approximately
five hundred and fifty,
grade two through eight
students in the schools who
benefit daily from the in
structional services of
specially trained math and
reading teachers. Either in
a lab situation, of which
there are five, or through
classroom resource
teachers, who number six,
eligible students al Walker,
Swain. White Oak and
Chowan Junior High schools
receive beneficial individual
academic instruction.
