Edenton and Chowan County joined the North Carolina Crime Watch Program at an organizational meeting held Friday night in the American Legion Hut. There were representatives there from almost every section in Edenton and Chowan County. Committee Chairmen from each section were selected. Mr. C. B. Smith was elected as Chairman of the Parent Organization. Mrs. Clara Boswell was elected as Vice- Chairman. Section Chair men will report to them. Be looking for your neigh borhood chairman to get in touch with each of you, work with them, and together I “A faithful dog will play with you and laugh with you, or cry... He’ll gladly starve to stay with you nor even reason why. And when you’re feeling out of sorts, somehow he’ll understand He’ll watch you with his shining eyes and try to lick your hand. His blind, implicit faith in you is matched by his great 10ve... The kind that all of us should have in the Master, up above! When everything is said and done 1 guess this isn’t odd, For when you spell ‘dog’ backwards you will get the name of God! ” The weather outside was cloudy on this Lord’s Day but the sunshine of Christian love and fellowship shone brightly inside Bandon Chapel. The fine group gathered for Sunday School were joyfully welcomed by Stan Turbyfill. Supt. Meta Mason’s car “died” on the way to church so she was unable to be present. Missed you, Meta. Stan read a letter from our Campus Crusade Missionnaries, Mary Catherine Moshos and Robin Carson, expressing their appreciation to Bandon for its support and love. Sometime ago someone ran over our little dog, Prince, broke his back and we had to have him put to sleep. Somehow, it just wasn’t the same to come home and not get a hearty greeting from a loving dog. While I was gone, my husband brought home a little male Keeshond puppy, the cutest little bundle of fur that you’ve ever seen! He’s so affectionate, loves to play, to be loved and to love. I found this poem by Nick Kenny, entitled simply “Dog”, which I would like to share with you: Harrell. Choir practice follows at 8 P.M.
