WIN COMPETITIVE SCHOLARSHIP Gail Boothe, Tom Sutton, and Tracy Morse will
receive the Alexandra K. Boa da Citizenship Award at College of The Albemarle during the
coming academic year. Although all of the 1981-82 recipients are Elizabeth City residents,
the competitive scholarship is open to any high school senior who plans to attend COA or any
currently enrolled student in the college’s service area. Miss Boothe, a rising sophomore *
who received the award her freshman year, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Van
Boothe. Sutton and Miss Morse are recent Northeastern High School graduates. He is the
son of Thomas T. Sutton, and she is the daughter of Barbara Hansen Morse of Virginia
Beach and resides with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Hansen. (COA Photo)

grade average on the 4.0
scale while taking 15 or
more letter grade hours of
credit, or a 3.5 average
while taking at least 12
letter grade hours with no
grade below a ‘C’.
