The 2 o’clock ceremony was Thursday, August 6. 1981 performed by Rev. Jeff Mitchiner. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Winston Whigham (the former Gapie Daniels of Edenton) of Tallahassee. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Moneyham of Chattahoochee, Fla. Mrs. Fran Gifford, Jackson, Miss., sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Debbie Schuck, Miss Kathy Faircloth and Miss Tammy Logsdon, all of Tallahassee. Flower girl was Miss Carole Beth Cambron, Dallas, Jex., cousin of the groom. Serving as ring bearer was Brad Hilsmier of Tallahassee. The groom chose his father as best man. Ushers were Curtis Whigham, brother of the bride, Tim Johnson, and John Hubbs, all of Tallahassee. Following the ceremony a reception was given by the bride’s parents in the church social hall. After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple will reside in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. MliS Shappell - M%. JOhilllpi United S)n Maxxiatje Joy Pamela Chappell and Wallace Clayton Phillips were united in marriage on July 12 at 2 P. M. at Hertford Baptist Church. Rev, Cal McDroy and Rev. David Waterfidd officiated at the double-ring ceremony in a candlelight setting of pink and white daisies. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ed Chappell of Hertford. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Phillips, also of Hartford. Wedding music was provided by Lyn Winslow of Belvidere,. organist, David Mylum of Snug Harbor, trumpet player, Mrs. Cynthia Jennings of Edenton, soloist, and Mr. and Mrs. Rick Snyder of Hertford, who sang a duet. The wedded couple also sang “I Pledge My Love” to each other as part of the ceremony. The bride, escorted by her Scheduled The Creswell United Methodist Church will hold revival services the week of August 9. The service will begin at 8 P. M. each evening through August 14. Rev. Ray Gooch, the pastor in Roper, will be the guest evangelist. The public is invited to attend. father, was given in marriage by her parents. The chiffon skirt raised to a bustle in the center back falling into a chapel length train, also accented with alenon lace. The bride carried a cascade of pink roses and white lilly of the valley with baby’s breath. The matron of honor was Mrs. Cynthia Jennings of Edenton, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Sheila Rountree of New Hope, Miss Beverly Taylor of Hertford, and Miss Jodie Newell of Elizabeth City. Junior attendants, carrying symbols of love, were Amy Chappell, Rene Mcllroy, Angel Williams, Roxanne Shivelry, Kristy Tedrick, Kathy Tedrick, Shana Twiddy, Sonya Twiddy, and Aretha McHone. Miss Hope Jennings of Edenton, niece of the bride, and Barry Sumner of Roanoke Rapids served as miniature bride and groom. The best man was the father of the groom, Jack Phillips. Ushers were David Phillips, brother of the groom, Paul Chappell, brother of the bride, G. C. Jennings, Jr., brother-in- law of the bride, and Lloyd Evans, Jr. Mistresses of ceremonies were the bride’s aunt, Mrs. Ima Jean Waff of Edenton, and the groom’s aunt, Mrs. Lillian Skittlethorpe, also of Edenton. A reception was given by the bride’s parents in the church fellowship hall following the ceronony. After a wedding trip to Williamsburg, Va., the couple will make their home at Rt. 2, Edenton. Courtesies A miscellaneous shower, given by relatives of the bride, was held June 24 in the Bethel Community Building. A miscellaneous shower given by friends and relatives of the groom, was held June 28 in the fellowship hall of Hertford Baptist Church. The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal party on July 11 for members of the wedding at the fellowship hall of Hertford Baptist Church.
