Norman Nprfleet, dean of in struction, said Stanley E. Nixon and Vincent V. Lucente will head the machinist trades and electrical installation and maintenance programs. S Norfleet said Nixon is not new at COA.The Edenton native, who resides in Perquimans County, graduated as an advanced machinist in 1970. He later \tfas employed at the college a6 an assistant instructor in t£e machinist trades program for a year. :':ln 1974, Nixon continued lps education at Roanoke Bible College. He has served Os pastor of Bethel Baptist Church for the past seven years. He also serves as a Volunteer chaplain at Chowan Hospital in Edenton, and is assistant <»hief of the Bethel Volunteer Home To Be Featured ; Biltmore House, the former Asheville residence of. the late George Van derbilt, will be featured on a national postage stamp to be issued August 28, according tq U. S. Postal Service of ficials. The Biltmore House is one of a four-stamp issue in an architectural series. Os the 180-million stamps issued in the series Biltmore House will appear on about 45- million of them. The 18 cents stamp will be rectangular and measures 1% x 11/4l l /4 inches. It will be gray with red lettering. -Biltmore House, owned by the Biltmore Company, is t|ie only privately-owned building that will be featured in the architectural series. The others will in clude the Palace of the Arts itt San Francisco, the New York University Library in New York and the National Farmers Bank in Owatonna, Minnesota. Vincent V. Lucente Fire Department. Nixon has gained more than seven years’ ex perience in the trade as a general machinist, tool and die maker, and utility mechanic for several area businesses. Lucente, a native of Brooklyn, N. Y., has in structed electrical in stallation and maintenance students at Robeson Technical College in Lumberton for the past six years. While teaching, he al so found time to enroll in and complete the radio, TV, and electronic servicing and air conditioning and refrigeration curricula at RTC. He retired from the U. S. Marine Corps after 26 years of service. Lucente is a licensed electrical con tractor and a member of the National Electrical Con tractors Association and Electronic Dealers Association. August 28 and will be available across the country on August 29. The Biltmore House, built between 1890 and 1895, was designed by Richard Morris Hunt after three castles in the Loire Valley of France. A poster which the Postal Service is using to promote the new stamp series features the Biltmore House. Appointed RALEIGH Hoke S. Roberson, Jr., of Hoke Motor Corp. in Edenton will serve as 1981-82 Chowan county Area Chairman for the North Carolina Automobile Dealers Association. Announcement of his appointment was made recently by NCADA President John R. Poole of Kinston.
