The bridegroom, a 1980 graduate of Chowan High School, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Koraska of Arrowhead Beach. He is currently with the U.S. Navy, and is stationed in Charleston, S.C., aboard the USS Mahan. Given in marriage by Mr. Thursday, August 27, 1981 James C. Nixon, uncle of the groom, the bride wore a traditional gown of bridal satin, and peau de soie with inserts of Venice lace trimmed in pearls, long full sleeves and bouffant skirt with lace hemline and chapel sweep train. The veil was shoulder length Chantilly lace and seed pearls. Miss Lou Ann Ester of Edenton served as maid of honor and Miss Jennie Leigh Nixon was flower girl. Mr. William C. Ullom was best man, with Master Steven Ray Nixon as ring bearer. Mrs. Koraska chose for her son’s wedding a long orchid sheen gown enhanced with a large white orchid corsage. Nuptial music was fur nished by Mrs. James C. Nixon, who also served as mistress of ceremonies. Mrs. Bobbie Jean Holt was soloist accompanied by Mrs. Hilda Wisner. A reception fallowed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard B. Koraska, grandparents of the groom. The beautiful and delicious cake which graced the refreshment table was decorated by Debra Nixon, aunt of the groom. Dr. Cassandra Weeks, aunt of the groom, served as registrar. After a brief honeymoon trip to Norfolk, Va., the couple resides in Arrowhead Beach. Our own experience is that time, when allowed to work, will solve many problems. - x Miss i Mi* Whit* Exchange Wedding l/ows Sin Kbreukot* Setting Bliss Melody Lane and William Donald White were uni&d in marriage on Aiigißt 2 at 6:30 o’clock in theevening in an impressive setting on the riyershore at the. home of the bride’s mother. •*- Officiating at the ceremony was Rev. George H. Cooke. The bride is the daughter of Bin. Thelma H. Lane of Tyner, and Mr. H. R. Lane of Ryland. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. McMullen White of Belvidere. Wedding music was presented by Mrs. Delores Hollowell of Tyner, organist; Mrs. Barbara Reames of Virginia Beach, Va.; and Mrs. JoAnn Kirby of Hertford, soloists. The setting for the outdoor wedding was by the river’s edge, among flowering plants and ferns. The bride came to the alter across a wooden bridge and through an arbor which provided a background for the ceremony. Carrying the bride’s train were twin cousins of the bride, Blisses Van and Jan Hare. The gown worn by the bride featured a schiffie lace bodice with spaghetti straps, and a flowering organza skirt. The train was chapel length. A detachable short cropped jacket with a mandarin collar, and bishop sleeves ending in cuffs of schiffie lace, was worn over the dress. The bride carried a bouquet of long stemmed red roses. Roses carried by the bride, bridesmaids, and roses deocrating the lawn were given by Mr. Astor Perry of Raleigh. Mrs. Vance D. Hare, the bride’s maternal grand mother, wore a dress of pink quiana, and Mrs. Nereus W. Chappell, the groom’s maternal grandmother wore a rose chiffon dress. Both grandmothers wore corsages of white orchids. Bliss Holly Starr Lane, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Carole Baker of Stone Mountain, Ga.; Mrs. Leslie Bennett of Tyner; and Bliss Rhonda Woodard of Raleigh. Mrs. Kathy Meads of Elizabeth City, Mrs. Dina Hurdle of Hertford, Mrs. Suzette Bell of Maple, Mrs. Lisa Byrum of Tyner, and Mrs. Lisa Baines of Eure, served as honorary bridesmaids. Mr. McMullen White served as his son’s best man. Groomsmen were: Mr. Kevin Lane of Greenville, Blr. Rick White of Winfall, Mr. Michael Hare of Tyner, and Mr. Donald Hurdle of Hertford. After a wedding trip to Florida, the couple is now residing in Tyner.
