August 8 in Edenton Baptist Church. The double-ring cacemony was officiated by Thomas A. Norvell, Jr., of indent on. ffhe groom is the son of m£ and Mrs. Paul Lyman Partin, also of Edenton. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of organza with a Qufeen Anne neckline. The was appliqued with chintilly lace and had long fitfed sleeves accented at tlfe cuffs with the same lace. The gown had a cathedral train with wide sweeping panels of chantilly lace. The bride chose a lace picture hat with pleated brim and french veiling. She carried a cascade design, cSifaposed of orchids, stephanotis and baby’s t&ath. Mrs. John A. Norvell, sister of the bride. The flower girl was Miss Jen nifer S. Norvell, sister of the bride. Mr. Paul L. Partin was his son’s best man. Ushers were Mr. William L. Norvell, 111, brother of the bride, Mr. Paul L. Partin, Jr., of Oriental; Mr. A1 Partin, and Mr. Michael Partin, of Edenton, all brothers of the groom; and Mr. John Cuthrell of Edenton, brother - in - law of the bride. Music was provided by Mrs. Larry Smith, organist, and Mr. Allen Parker, soloist, both of Edenton. Mrs. Marion Cross and Mrs. Jerry Downum served as mistress of ceremony. On July 28 a kitchen j shower given by Mrs. Ed Bond, Mrs. Lena Harrell j and Mrs. Frances Hollowell. A casual lunch given by the brides maids, on August 1. A keg party given by Mr. and Mrs. A1 Partin, Mr. Bruce Jones, Jr., and Mr. Mike Partin. Bridesmaids luncheon given by Mrs. Lindsey Homthal and Mrs. Patricia Downum, August 3. A rehearsal dinner was given by Mr. and Mrs. Paul L. Partin, Sr., parents of groom, at Mrs. Boswell’s Restaurant. Followed by an after rehearsal party given by Mr. and Mrs. James M. Bond in the home. A brunch was given on the morning of the wedding by Mr. and Mrs. George A. Byrum and Mr. and Mrs. Scott Harrell, Sr., at the Byrum’s home. Souple United ut The marriage of Miss Alice Tucker Hobbs and Mr. Russell Dean Blanchard took place at 3 o’clock August 30, at Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Rev. George Cooke and Mr. Archie Blanchard, brother of the groom. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Marvin Hobbs of Tyner. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Wayne Blan chard of Belvidere. Nuptial music was presented by Mrs. Sheila Ward of Hobbsville, organist, and Mr. Gary Byrum of Winston- Salem, soloist. The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal gown of white organza. The fitted bodice was over-laid with silk venise lace and had a Queen Ann neckline accented with crystal pleated ruffles. The bishop sleeves were edged with crystal ideating and accented with motifs. The skirt had a double lace flounce that extended into a chapel sweep train. The train was enhanced with motifs.
