Edenton Tea Party
Celebration which will be
held October 24-25 this year.
It is well remembered
that Mrs. Wackelin directed
a very successful Tea Party
Celebration last October
25-26, in spite of unfavorable
weather conditions. Tom

Cultural Resources has
called it “the nicest affair I

Appalachian State
University with a major in
English and a minor in
anthropology. While living
in Steamboat Springs,
Colorado she conceived and
directed a three-day Fourth
of July celebration which
drew 4,000 people.
Gunfighters, roping
demonstrations, panning for
gold for children and pie
eating contests were among
the attractions.
Since coming to Edenton
in July, 1979, Mrs. Wackelin
has been active in the Little
Theater, Woman’s Club
and the Arts Council.

Hospital. Deacon Kent
Rowley had an outstanding
lesson on God’s Offer of Mer
cy to All. Kent was asked to
fill in for Stan Turbyfill who
was away on a scouting trip
with his boy scout troop. It is
always good to have
someone capable as Kent to
fill in at the last minute
during an emergency.
Preacher Bob Harrell’s
fine sermon came to us
about, “For God So Loved
That He Gave His Only
Son”. John 3. He announced
that the doors of Bandon
Chapel are wide open if you
care to join us. It is most
encouraging to see so many
new faces. Communion was
served by our new chairman
of deacons, Butch Smith.
