Sam Croft Revival Services Are Underway Revival services are now in progress thru Sunday October 25th at the Church of God, 906 Johnston Street. Rev. Sam Croft, pastor of the Henderson, N. C. Church of God, is the visiting evangelist. Rev. Croft has been to Israel nine times and has acquired an indepth knowledge ot Israel and prophetic subjects. Marvin Baccus extends an invitation to the public to be a part of these services. Transportation will be provided by calling 482-3554. Marine Pvt. Ward Completes Training Marine Pvt. Christopher Ward, son of Florence Ward, 90 Chowan Court, Edenton, has completed recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. During the 11-week training cycle, he learned the basics of battlefield survival. He was introduced to the typical daily routine that he will experience during his enlistment and studied the personal and professional standards traditionally exhibited by Marines. He participated in an active physical conditioning program and gained proficiency in a variety of military skills including first aid, rifle marks manship and close order drill. Teamwork and self-discipline were emphasized throughout the training cycle. He joined the Marine Corps in August, 1980. Bank Reveals Profits Increase Bancshares ot North Carolina Inc. announced Monday a 30 per cent increase in third-quarter profits and a 52 per cent increase in profits for the first nine months of 1981. Bancshares, parent company of Bank of North Carolina, earned $783,941,37 cents per share, net income in the three months ended Sept. 30, up from $604,545, 29 cents per share, in the same quarter of 1980. For the nine-month period, the Raleigh-based company earned $2.3- million, slll per share, net income, compared with $1.5- million, 74 cents per share, in the same period of 1980. A Bancshares spokesman said much of that increase stemmed from a 34.2 per cent increase in net interest income - the difference between the bank’s payments for deposits and its income for loans. Net increase income jumped from $11.2-million in the first nine months of 1980 to $15.1-million in the same period this year. Sewing box a tangled mass of spools and threads?
