Perquimans Bloodmobile The First United Methodist Church on Market Street in Hertford will be the site of an American Red Cross bloodmobile on Tuesday. Sponsored by the Perquimans Jaycees the drive is scheduled from 12- noon to 6 P.M. The community wide drive has a goal of 85 pints of blood. All area residents, regardless of whether they have donated in the past are encouraged to participate in the drive. Chairman for the day is Tommy Riddick. Individuals wishing to schedule an appointment or needing additional in formation may call him at 426-5802 during the day or 426-5040 evenings. Donations can be made with or without an ap-- pointment. January bloodmobiles are particularly important because donations are traditionally low following the holiday season. Most individuals who must have elective surgery schedule it for January, in order to avoid being in the hospital during the holidays. In addition, January usually sees an increase in con sumption, and a decrease in collections because of poor weather and donor sickness. Tidewater Regional Blood Services of the American Red Cross supplies the total blood and blood component needs of some 58 hospitals in Eastern Virginia and Eastern North Carolina. The hospitals require daily collections of at least 460 units to meet patient needs. «■■■■■■■■■ ii ! ¥ § RECEIVES PLAQUE FOR SERVICE Sammy Morris, right, recently received a plaque for 11 years of service as a farmer committeeman for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service.
