When vision is seriously impaired, the lens is removed by surgery. Glasses or contact lenses are used to com pensate for this. Otherwise you would suffer from ex treme farsightedness. Before the advent of con tact lenses, the only alter native was to wear thick lensed glasses to correct vision after cataract surgery. These magnified the eyes so much that it made people who wore them uncomfortable •bout their appearance. Soiies Sanfuet The Edenton Business Professional Womens Club will have their Annual Bosses Night banquet to night at 7 P.M. at the American Legion Building. Guest speaker for the occasion will be Barbara Perry, Director of Public Relations and Professional Development at the Rocky Mount Sanitarium Hospital. She is also President and founder of her own com pany, Positive People Enterprises. Providing entertainment for the evening will be the John A. Holmes Stage Band under the direction of Otis Strother. The highlight of the evening will be naming the “Woman of the Year” for 1981 for Chowan County. Also present will be die past winners of this distinguished award.
