Reflections From The Bandon Notebook
By Maggie B. with whom we come in
HI, NEIGHBORS! At contact. I discovered this
times we become so poem by Alice H. Mor
engrossed in the every day tenson, entitled “It Matters
happenings centered around Not’’, which may give us a
us that we fail to see how our better perspective. Share it
actions may affect those with me:
“It matters not if I’ve been hurt; it matters not at all
That sometimes from my weary eyes the scalding teardrops
faU.
What matters most is if I’ve erred and not confessed the sin,
And through my lack some needy soul has failed to follow
Him.
It matters not if cherished friends on whom I’ve leaned in
vain
Have wounded me by word and deed and left me with my
pain.
What matters is - can I forgive again and yet again?
‘Tis not ‘Have they been true? ’ but ‘Lord, have I been true to
them?’
‘Twill matter not when evening comes how rough the road
I’ve trod.
If only I have walked with Him and led some soul to God!
For when I wake to be like Him who saved me by His Grace,
Earth’s pain will vanish when I catch one glimpse of His
dear face!”
Th sky above us on this
Lord’s Day looked as if it
were ready to cry, and the
air was quite nippy - but -
any day one is able to get out
of bed without help, bathe,
dress and move about freely
is a beautiful day, one to be
enjoyed to the fullest! It’s a
golden opportunity to be
able to enter the church of
your choice to thank God for
His countless blessings.
Those assembled at
Bandon Chapel for Sunday
School felt the warmth of
brotherly love as they were
enthusiastically welcomed
to God’s house by Supt. Meta
Mason. Our first timer on
this Lord’s Day was a tiny

Rev. Braswell expressed
their joy at being with us
and stated that he felt very
much at home in this lovely
Chapel. His inspiring ser
mon was entitled “Em
powered to Reach”, based
on John 3:16, the most well
known verse in scripture.
Resume follows: We are
empowered to (1) Reach up
to God in Christ, to allow
Him to empower us to do
what He would have us to do
and be what He would have
us to be; (2) Reach down to
those who need us so
desperately - need to see
Christ in U 6 so that it will lift
them up and they will un
derstand the meaning of
salvation.We are to be God’s
earthly vessels to help
others and lead then to
Jesus Christ ; and (3) Reach
out. “Who shall by my
witnesses to Jerusalem,
Judea, Samaria and to all
the world”. You are to bfe '
satisfied with nothing else!
To reach out gives a sense of
fulfillment and joy un
surpassed. You are joining
with us to support Campus
ministries at East Carolina
University and all over the
world. Together we can
rejoice and be grateful to
know of the hundreds and
