Page 8-A Obituaries J. B. Lee. Sr. James Benjamin Lee, Sr. 58, of 2917 Rose Street, Greenville, died Friday morning in his home. A native of Pitt County he was the husband of Mrs. Mary Edmundson Lee and was retired from the Maintenance Department of East Carolina University. He was a Navy veteran of World War 11. Other survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Brenda Donaldson of Winterville, Mrs. Joanne Tilton and Mrs. Faith Narron, both of Greenville, and Mrs. Lynette Bullard of Denver, Colo.; a son, James B. (Jim) Lee, Jr. of Stokes: sister, Mrs. Guy (Virginia) Williams of Edenton; two brothers, Obed L. Lee of Edenton and Robert E. Lee of Gatesville; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at 3:30 P.M. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel, Greenville. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery. Information was provided by Swindell-Bass Funeral Home. Swindell-Bass Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements. ▼BR* * * * "4 * William Reeves Letter To Edtor By Mrs. Emily Brooks Did you know that Mr. William Reeves was the first Mack truant officer? He was so upset about seeing the Mack boys and girls out of school until he made it his duty to find the boys and girls playing hooky from school, to talk to than and their parents to keep the boys and girls off the street and in school. He was also the first to start the Joy Fund for the sick and shut ins, John R. Page Lodge No. 13. At that time Mr. William Reeves past master ap pointed past master W. H. Collins permanent chairman of the Joy Fund committee which is still going on today. 310 people received Christmas cards and presents. Mr. Reeves also worked at the Chowan Herald for several years. He is also working in his church and community and has been in inspiration to our town. THE CHOWAN HERALD Revival Services Harmed Macedonia Baptist Church will begin their revival services March 14 at 11 A.M. and will meet each night through Friday at 7:30 P.M. These meetings are being held in con junction with the “Here’s Hope” crusade in North Carolina. Rev. Frank Keels, Pastor of Clearview Baptist Church at James Island, S. C. will be bringing the message at Rev. Don Ferrell Revival Set Revival services will begin this Sunday March 14 at Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church. The services will begin with the 11:00 A.M. worship hour and continue nightly at 7:30 P.M. The speaker for the revival will be the Rev. Don Ferrell, pastor of the Mount Ruhama Baptist Church, Maiden, N.C. The music will be fur nished by the choirs of Ballard’s Bridge under the direction of Mrs. Brenda Winbome, Music Director of the church. The public is cordially invited to attend. A nursery will be provided each evening.
