THE CHOWAN HERALD
Renaissance Era Topic Os COA Lecture
The famous voyages of
discovery, another gift from
the Renaissance, will be the
subject of discussion during
the next-to-last session “The
Human Dimension”
humanities series at 7:30
P.M. on March 30, at College
of The Albemarle.
Well-known local scholar.
Dr. Louis V. Nadeau,
professor of philosophy at
Elizabeth City State
University, will present the
lecture. His discussion will
describe the excitement of
the times as man ex
perienced a physical ex
pansion of his terrestrial
.torixons through the
discovery of new lands.
More exciting were the
discoveries of Copernicus,
Galileo, and Kepler, ac
cording to Nadeau. His
discourse will reveal many
of the emotions of these
Renaissance astronomers,
who were the first to
glimpse worlds beyond
man’s reach.
Nadeau, who has been
associated with ECSU since
1970, holds several degrees.
