Thursday, April 8, 1982 - i The Bandon Notebook . ,J i By Maggie B. Hi, Neighbors! It’s so jood to be home again! We nad a lovely trip, visited with friends and had the privilege of seeing man’s God - given ingenuity at work - we witnessed the launching of space shuttle “Columbia”. It was a spectacular sight - ab solutely awe inspiring! On the long drive home, we were surrounded by evidence of new life everywhere! Spring flowers were nodding their pretty heads; fruit trees were blooming, their fragrance filled the air; and trees were putting on their spring finery - so many varying shades of green! The beauty of nature abounded. How blessed we are that God constantly reminds us of the immortality of mankind through glimpses of glory in His creations. Sunday is Easter -a day of rejoicing for all Christians. When we think of all that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, willingly went through in our stead, we feel humble, unworthy and grateful. We realize that He completely understands us in all ways and in spite of our imperfections, in love He gave His all to make us acceptable to our Heavenly Father, justified our sins by shedding His precious blood in our stead. Share these thoughts of Kathryn Bowsher with me: “He sees each fledgling sparrow fall, He knows small broken wings. He hears each anguished, plaintive call of tiny broken things. He knows each lonely crippled child who bravely laughs and sings, Who longs to run and romp in fields and know glad joy it brings. He knows each heartache, ev’ry trial of all of Adam’s race. He bore cruel Cross and does not fail r ~ to save us by His grace. On Calvr’y’s Tree - fierce nails applied, pierced through by angry sword Heartbroken, scourged and crucified was Jesus Christ, our Lord. -Of Hinr God's- whole creation sihgsf ■• *' * ~ :.i& understandeth j>Eoken:things,”-J. , I ■ In a few words, Robert Browning tells the story: “Easter day breaks! Christ rises! Mercy every way is infinite • Earth breaks up; time drops away; In flows heaven with its new day of endless life!” O On this Palm Sunday, the winds howled, churning waters of the mighty Chowan into a frenzy! Above the clouds the sun was brightly shining -a beautiful day just to be alive and be able to enter the church of your choice. Those gathered for Sunday School at Ban don Chapel were treated to a beautiful lesson entitled “Christ Hears Human Cries”, Mark 7:32-37; 10:46- 52, lovingly taught by Stan Turbyfill.
