Page 4-B AHIMHIS Foresters Named To NC Tree Farm Committee Five Weyerhaeuser foresters with company Tree Farm Family responsibilities have been named to various positions with the North Carolina Tree Farm Committee which administers the American Forest Institute’s Tree Farm system in the state. Paul Porterfield of Grifton has been elected vice - chairman of the State committee, Rufus Crouch of Plymouth has been named publicity chairman of the State committee, and Mike Besoner of Plymouth, A1 Weller of Dunn and Woody Weeks of New Bern have been named district chairmen. The purpose of the AFI Tree Farm system is to recognize individual land owners who provide good examples of forest management for others to follow. Weyerhaeuser’s Tree Farm Family program is designed to provide professional forest management assistance to small landowners to help manage their forest crop6*for maximum profit. Landowners interested in more information about the program can contact Tree Farm Family represen tatives at 793 - 8851 in Plymouth or 633 - 7395 in New Bern. 20 Years Service Six employees of the North Carolina Region are being honored this month for 20 years service with Weyerhaeuser. They are Sowder Will Hold Conference GREENVILLE - Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church will sponsor Jimmy Sowder of Orlando, Fla., a former insurance and realtor businessman, April 18, throbgb April 22 in-a Victorious Life Conference at Jarvis Memorial Methodist Church in downtown Greenville. Conference chairperson is Sam Johnson of Greenville, a lay leader. The public is invited to attend at no charge. Sowder, a teacher, evangelist and delegate to the General and Southeastern Jurisdictional Methodist Conference at Lake Junaluska Assembly, will emphasize during the five - day conference a special ministry dealing with tragedies, teaching for spiritual preparation and healing of the total person. He will bring with him accompanist Ed Strickland, a Florida businessman and song leader. The Conference begins with a fellowship and get - acquainted time followed by a covered dish supper Sunday, April 18, at 4:30 P.M. in the Fellowship Hall. At 5:45 P.M., a 15 - minute congregational singing will be led by Strickland. A program for children, ages six through 12, is to include movies, music and a puppet show and is planned for Sunday night only from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. in the Fellowship Hall. While the children’s program is going on, Sowder Here’s Hope Revival ’B2 The HERE'S HOPE revival for 1982 will be conducted at Chappell Hill Baptist Church starting April 28 and will continue through May 1. Services will begin each night at 7:30 P.M. This revival is being sponsored and carried out fay the young people of the church. The Evangelist for the revival is Rev. Tom Hayes, Pastor of Cool Springs Baptist Church of Eure, N.C. The theme for the revival is : “Here’s Hope, For By Faith Are Ye Saved’’. Special gospel music will be rendered each night by several outstanding youth singing groups from the area, along with the Fellowship Choir of the Jon W. Barnes of Creswell, M. Wayne Furlough of Roper, Harold N. Lee of Emul, I. W. Nobles of Plymouth, Jack N. Shepard of Plymouth and Charles E. Woodley of Roper. will conduct a “Back to Bethel” service based on Genesis 35: 1- 7in the sanctuary of the church Sunday, April ,18, from 6 ‘P M. 9 P.M. ' On April 19, from 10 A.M. to Noon, a teaching on in terpersonal relationships will be conducted in the sanctuary. That night from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M., a teaching on discipline, claiming the promises and a practical help for a Victorious prayer life will be held in the sanctuary. There will be special music. On April 20, from 10 A.M. to Noon, a teaching on in terpersonal relationships will be held. That night, from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M., a witnessing symposium on teaching on spiritual preparation for witnessing, motivation and the need for and the need for and joy in witnessing will be con ducted. There will also be special music. On April 21, from 10 A.M. to Noon, a teaching on in terpersonal relationships will be conducted. Also from 7 to 9 P.M., dealing with the basics of evangelism in cluding baptism of the Holy Spirit will be conducted. On April 22, from 10 A.M. to Noon, a teaching mi in terpersonal relationships will be held. That night from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M., the con ference will conclude with a healing of the total person and love feast. A nursery will be provided for all services. church.
