Page 4-B Scott Opens New Firm Former Gov. Robert W. Scott and former State Utilities Comissioner Ben E. Roney of Rocky Mount have opened a consulting firm, Scott - Roney Public Af fairs, in Raleigh. The firm will serve business and industrial companies in their relationships with govern ment at the state and federal levels. Both men are veteran political and business leaders with governmental experience in Raleigh and Washington. Scott, a resident of Haw River, was lieutenant governor of North Carolina from 1965 to 1969 and Gov. from 1969 to 1973. He was in Washington from 1977 to 1979 as Federal Co - Chairman of the Ap palachian Regional Com mission. Rodney is a longtime associate of Scott, serving as his administrative assistant during his term as Gov. Roney served in the same capacity for Scott’s father, the late W. Kerr Scott, who was Gov. from 1949 to 1953. The elder Scott served in the U.S. Senate from 1954 to 1958, with Roney again serving as his administrative assistant.
