Points are awarded for such activities as competing in district and state competition, banquets, participating in the bloodmobile, Christmas float, Chowan County Fair. radio programs, etc. Also during the awards session, John Dowd was awarded a Honary Life Membership by the Distributive Education Clubs of America for his outstanding contributions to DECA while he was a teacher and his continued interest in the program. Holmes High School which recently toured Williford - Barham Funeral Home. While there the students were shown two slide presentations. One was entitled “The Value of the Funeral” and the other discussed caskets and other funeral merchandise. With the students is their instructor, Mrs. and Mrs. Marvin Barham and Paul Miller of the funeral home. Williford - Barham has several slide presentations dealing with various topics including Widowhood, Fatal Illness, and Religious Viewpoints on Death.
