Here is a rundown of the program: Mrs. Morring’s 6th graders: Melissa Owens, Chris Gilkm, Tony Dail, Ira Bonds, Maurice Granby, Alex Perry, and Herman Coston, Jr. as the monster gave a hysterical per formance of the Mad Scientist. Miss Banks had a sth grade group singing “Apache” accompanied by the record. The lead was Andre Bond. The chorus was Anissa Brickhouse, Alexis Brown, Lori Cofield, Derrick Felton, Angela Gillon, Pamela Horton, Timothy Hoggard, Stephanie Moore, Gerald Perry and James Williams. Mrs. Lennon’s 4th grade had a magic show, Jacob Rothberger was the magician and Eric Taylor his audience volunteer. Mrs. Thatch had four Fourth graders doing a Vaudeville act to Yankee Doodle Dandy. They were: John Keeter, Tyrone Carter, Alonzo Unthank and Thomas Moore. Mrs. Jordan’s sth graders Tinkling Dance was a real treat. Linwood Bailey, Paula Privott, Kendra White, Chris Forehand. Bill Leary, David Drew and Robert. Rankins showed us some beautiful jumps with the vault box. Mrs. Copeland’s whole 4th grade class danced to the Alley Cat. Katy Emmert, Betsy Voigt and Kim Watson from Mrs. Byrums sth grade gave their rendition of the news. Mrs. Hollowell’s sth grade girls took us to the orient as they sang “Suki Yaki”, dressed in Kimonas. the girls were: Tina Boyce (lead), Timika Bonds, Vickie Brickhouse and Leslie Redmon. From Mrs. Walker’s class we were entertained by Beth Norvell at the piano. Mrs. Germanaro had five Fifth grade girls singing and dancing to “Must Be the Music.” The girls were: Tywanda Foreman (lead), Ynika Gold, Dorlicia Rountree, Antionette Fleming, Catherine Leary. Mr. Williams’ whole 4th grade class did a salute to the American Flag. Mrs. Wilkins’ whole 6th grade class danced and sang to their theme song - “Elvira” Then some teachers joined in the program. Mrs. Morings sang “Rightious Son of God” accompanied by Mrs. Thatch on the piano. It was very moving. Then Miss Banks had the whole auditorium tapping toes as she sang “St. Louis Blues.” She was also accompanied by Mrs. Thatch on the piano. Next came Mrs. TTiatch singing and playing “Loving and Kind.” You could hear a pin drop. The audience was captivated. Finally all the teachers showed they had rhythum as they stepped out to the Hokey Pokey. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place - from laughing. Blueberries Pick Your Own 40* lb. The workshops were Bet up by Mrs. Jordan to correlate with the last chapter in the Health book. The students had 5 20 minute sessions. David Jethro was based in Mrs. Bynums’ room and he spoke to the children about bicycle safety and laws. Chief Parks was in Mrs. Jordan’s room. He emphasized the im portance of knowing how to handle yourself in a- fire. Officer Terry spoke about drugs. She was based in Miss Banks room. In Mrs. Germanaro’s room First - Aid was taught by Murray Ashely. Finally, Alcohol was discussed by David Causey in Mrs. HolloweU’s room. The students learned alot from these sessions. The rarest of traits is sincerity. Graduation At M&M Day Care More than 100 parents, relatives and friends turned out to the MAM Day Care Center’s pre - school graduation program on May | 28. This was the first such program to be held at the center but according to Mrs. Halsey and Mrs. Burke, this will now become an annual affair. Many song* and poems were presented (most were composed by Mrs. Halsey).
