What Can High Blood Pressure Do to You? r When, high blood pressure is' not' ireat&cf. thlere'can be serious damage to blood vessels that feed the heart, the brain, and the kidneys. The blood cannot flow freely when this happens. As the heart is made to pump harder, it can become too large. It may just stop. Blood vessels in the brain may burst. That can lead to what we call a stroke. If the kidneys are damaged, they cm no longer clean the blood. Disease and death may follow.
