Thursday, June 3. 1982 Foxwell, National Winner The United States Achievement Academy recently announced that Terry Foxwell has been named a 1982 United States mnM I Terry L. Foxwell National Award winner in Band. This award is a prestigious honor very few students can ever hope to attain. In fact, the Academy recognizes less than 5 per cent of all American high school students. Terry, who attends Winyah High School in Georgetown, S.C., was nominated for this National award by John Oxford, a band director at the school. Cecil Taylor, District Governor, gave a lively talk on the merits of Ruritan Club program. The purpose of a Ruritan Club is com munity service and Taylor said, “Let me assure you that Ruritan members are still carrying out this ser vice objective.” Taylor is the Governor of the Albemarle District which has 23 clubs and about 650 members. The Holmes School FFA Quartet provided out standing entertainment for the group of 65 Ruritans and their wives.
