Robert S. Harrell and his family. At the Worship Service, Bandon’s Shepherd, Rev. Robert S. Harrell, was delighted to welcome everyone, especially the many visitors in our midst. He recognized all that had served in the Armed Forces, held government jobs and paid tribute to the many who had given thieir lives for their country. Pastor Bob’s thought provoking Memorial Day message was “A Lesson in Courage”, based on Gen. 12:1-9. Ladies of the BCWG will meet Thursday at 10:30 A.M. in the Fellowship Hall. There will be a surprise in store for all present. Pres. Helen Ellinwood is carefully guarding this “secret”. Plan to be present or you’ll miss the fun. Women’s Circles Meet: Esther Circle, WOC, will meet on June Bth at 10:30 A.M., place to be announced later. Ruth Circle, WOC, will also meet on this date at 7:30 P.M. at the home of Rose Gentry. Rebecca Circle, WOC, will meet on Friday, June 11th at 7:30 P.M. at the home of Alice Johnson. All ladies of the com munity are invited to attend our Circle Meetings. Choose the time suited to your schedule and join us for a time of learning, worship, prayer and fellowship. Reminder: June 13th is Bandon’s FIRST Homecoming Celebration. THE CHOWAN HERALD PERFORMANCE TO BE HELD The Chowan Academy of Dance directed by Marsha Gordon will have its annual recital June 5 at 8 P.M. at John A. Holmes High School auditorium. Included in the performance will be “Etude In A Flat”, from left to right- Stephanie Creighton, Leslie Ervin, Mary Copeland, Alicia Sellers, Liza Vaughan. Ad mission will be $2.50 for children, $3 for adults. Edenton - Chowan Baccalaureate Services “Pomp and Cir cumstance” will abound in two separate Baccalaureate services June 6, marking the beginning of graduation exercises for one hundred ninety two students in the Edenton - Chowan School System. The eighteen graduation candidates from the Edenton - Chowan Alter native School will hold their program durihg the 11:00 A.M. worship services at Warren’s Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Following the ceremony, a reception honoring the graduates will be held for friends and relatives on the church grounds. Baccalaureate services for John A. Holmes High School’s one hundred seventy - four candidates for graduation will begin at 7:30 P.M. at the Edenton Baptist Church. Rev. A.C. I Bus Rodeo Winner Cardell Butts, busdriver for Camden County Middle School, won first place in the annual Bus Rodeo held at John A. Hoimes High School recently.
