Mrs. Joseph L. Logan, Jr. the parents of the bride, and the bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jospeh L. Logan, Sr. of Coral Gables, Florida. The Reverend Ernie Pirkle performed the double ring ceremony against a background of scheffleria trees and boston ferns. The stain glass baptistery window was lighted and draped with southern smilax; on each side were brass spires, arches and crowns holding lighted wedding tapers. In the center was a table covered with a white army - navy cloth holding two brass candlesticks with an open Bible in the center. On each side of the table were large wedding urns arranged with pink roses, carnations, gladioli, alstreomia, chrysanthemums, pom poms, and gypsophelia’ The wedding music was presented by Ms. Gail O'Neal, organist, and Mrs. James Coleman, vocalist, who sang “God, A Woman, A Man”, “Evergreen”, and “The Wedding Prayer”. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a candlelight dress of Chan tilly lace and peau de suir, the modified bodiace featured a yoke of dainty tucks made of english net with a row of self covered buttons down the front. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Surrency of Sylvester are Victorian neckline is outlined with matching lace. The back of the dress has a ruffle which forms a pinafore look and sweeps soft into a chapel length train. The chapel length veil of french silk illusion and chantilly lace is attached to a lace bandeau. The bride carried a cascade bouguet of phalaenopsiorchids, glacier ivey and stephanotis. For sentimate, the bride wore a lovely pearl necklace, a gift of the bridegroom. Miss Linda Bryan of Ithaca, N.Y., aunt of the bride, was maid of honor, and serving as bridesmaids were Miss Kimberly Logan of Coral Gables, the groom’s daughter, Miss Nancy Futch of Waycross, Ms. Judy Slappey, Miss Robin Bell, and Miss Sue Johnson, all of Sylvester. The Bridesmaids wore formal gowns of pink dacron organza with drop - shoulder bodice and attached to the organza bow at the back waist is a soft ruffle that sweeps around the hemline. The bridesmaids carried candlelight lace fans topped with silk fuchisa, roses, stephanotis and glacier ivey. The groom’s father served as best man and groomsmen were Joe Logan, 111, the groom’s son, of Carol Gables, A1 Surrency, the bride’s brother, Bryan Golden, the bride’s cousin, both of Sylvester, Jerry Fisher of Gainsville, FI., and Ed Jordan of Edenton, N.C. The mother of the bride chose for her daughters wedding a floor - length dress of rose silk organza. A Cymbidian orchid com pleted her attier. The groom’s mother wore a floor - length touquois sheath of crape de shene with a full length toga. Accenting ho- dress was a yellow throat orchid cor sage. Following the ceremony the bride’s parents en tertained at a reception at the Sylvester Woman’s Clubhouse. Greeting the guest was Mrs. Pearson Golden. Attractive arrangements of lavender pixie car nations, freesia, pink roses, alstromeria, gypsophila, adorned the rooms and tables. The bride’s table was overlaid with a white army - navy cloth and centered with a beautiful tiered wedding cake which was topped with the traditional bride and groom. The same bride and groom was used on the bride’s parents cake on their wedding day. Silver candelabra holding white buring tapers were placed on each side of the cake. Draped around the cake and tapers was souther smilax tucked with pink sweetheart roses. Serving at the bride’s table was Mrs. Charles Beebe and Miss Amy Slappey. The groom’s table features a chocooate cake decorated with marzipan fruit. The table was covered with an army - navy cloth. Cutting and serving the groom’s cake was Miss Robin and Miss Karen Eason. A lovely table overlaid with a white army - navy cloth and draped with southern smilax tucked with pink sweetheart roses adorned with a silye punph, bowl and silber candelabra; held the delicious refresh" ments served by Mrs. Jimmy Rouse and Miss Julie Slappey. Miss Jenny McNair and Miss Nancy Thompson served as hostess at a table holding a footed fruit bowl containing fresh fruit and mellons. Served with the fruit was nuts, mints, and dip Those asssisting in ser ving were Mrs. Sam Willims, Mrs. Buford Dowdy, Mrs. Walter Powell and Mrs. Ricky Bartley. The Brides book was kept by Sylvia Snipes and Miss Alison Beebe and Miss Brandi Rouse, cousins of the bride, presented satin roses filled with bird seed to the guest during the evening. Traditional music was played during the reception by Mrs. Carroll Miller. Several out of town guest attended the ceremony. Among these were: Mr. and Mrs. Alan Rutherford, Mr. and Mrs. C.E. It is a shame and disgrace to the people of Chowan County when people are sent out from the city boards and factories to tell, people who to vote for and even worse when they are told what will happen if they don’t.
