In this 'technique, the supporting teeth oh both sides are crowned. The partial denture hooks INTO the crowned teeth rather than around them. Located on the back of each supporting crown is a “female” .attachment. That’s what the “male” attachment on the partial denture hooks into. No wire clasps are needed to hold the denture in place. There'll be nothing for 1 anyone to see when you open your mouth except the teeth that now fill the gap that used to make you feel self-conscious. “We Cater To Cowards” * <g? L | OPTOMETRIST When You Need Bifocals People who have two kinds of vision problems can benefit from bifocals. Ihey’re a lot less trouble than having two pair of glasses. In a bifocal lens, the top part is used for viewing ob jects nearby or at a distance, depending on the correction needed. If you’re near sighted, this brings nearby objects into focus. If you’re farsighted, it sharpens images seen far away. And if you have an astigmatism or double-focus problem, it will bring things into focus no matter how close or far away. The bottom part of a bifocal lens is for reading. This part of the lens compensates for an inability to use the near focusing muscles of the eye. Until you try them yourself, you may think bifocals are difficult to use, but most people soon get used to them quickly and find them more practical than having two pair of glases. We usually look down when we read and look up to see objects at a distance. Bifocals are designed with this in mind. In the interest of better vision from the office of: A.F. Downum, Jr., O.D. 103 W.
