H Hfl O H THE CHOWAN HERALD day at the Martin County Auditorium in Williamston for the semi-annual Circuit Con vention of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Principal speaker for the event was district director Louis R. Beda. The two-day assembly attracted delegates from ten mideastern and northeastern North Carolina congregations. Other such assemblies have been held in Williamston by the Witnesses in the past, always with the purpose of Bible study. Each assembly has a scriptural theme. The one just conclud ed being: “Making the Truth Manifest in Our Lives.” The theme of this assembly, “Making the Truth Manifest in Our Lives,” stressed the importance of obedience to God’s Word. According to one of the local ministers, Flet cher Gardner, scriptures were discussed emphasising the role of the husband, wife, and children in the Christian family. * 4 One of the higlights of the assembly came Saturday when 15 new witnesses were baptized.
