Page 6-A River Spree Gets Sponsors KiverSpree officials report that two co-sponsors have already committed to the festial. Pizza Hut will sponsor the River Spree Anything That’ll Float But A Boat Race that was so popular last year. The non-boating race is a fun event tor participants and spectators as the people powered crafts make their way around the course (hopefully on top of the water).. Miller Brewing and K-94 will sponsor the first River Spree Lite Beer Tug-of- War. Tug-of-War ever s are becoming very popular evidenced by 64 team entries and several thousand attendees at an event in Raleigh last year. Teams are comprised of not more than 10 people or a total of 2,000 pounds. Rules and en try blanks for these events are available from Elizabeth City Area Chamber of Com merce Entrants will receive t shirts and trophies for the winners. Other sponsorship oppor tunities include stage spon sors, event or entertainment sponsors. Stage sponsors may have a banner or sign attached to their stage throughout the festival. Entertainment sponsors may do so during their enter tainer’s performance.
