Let us be grateful for today -- the sun is shining, all traces of yesterday’s freak storm have disappeared, there is no longer snow on the leaves of my fig tree! Today we have a chance to correct mistakes of yester day; to show our love for our neighbors more fully - cause even one life to be a little wiser, a little happier or a lit tle better. We can prepare for Tomorrow by caring for our health; realizing the dignity and privilege of work; enriching our minds and souls through the many avenues in literature, art, music, science, history and religion r and be ready for opportunity p when it knocks. Since time 1 began, Today has been the 1 friend of man. Let’s take time , to appreciate the marvel that ■ is man - the only thing God created in His image with a . “Your heart -No pump is as perfect if you treat it right. . Your eyes -No camera can touch them for efficiency. , Your nervous system - There is no telegraph system equal to it. ; Your voice and ears - They are better than any radio or TV ' built. . Your noise, lungs, and skin - There is no ventilating plant as . wonderful and efficient. , Your spinal cord -It is superior to the most complete swit chboard for giving instantaneous warning and reactions. . Such a marvelous, complicated mechanism as YOU is worth | Your highest respect and best care. Protect yourself always.” -0- On this Lord’s Day, glisten- THE CHOWAN HERALD living soul - our Heavenly Father’s finest creation! One could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit. Bandon’s Shepherd, Rev. Robt. S. Harrell, had as his scripture Joshua 14:6-12. He asked the question “What is Normal?” This meaningful message cannot be condensed without losing its flavor, but the following points were stressed: Life consists of many things - joy, happiness, struggle, pain, sorrow and suffering. God does not tell us He will deliver us from pain and suffering but He will give us the strength we need to carry on in spite of all odds. He gives us mountains to climb but He is there for us to turn to. Life is honed to its highest quality when there is trouble, when we have to struggle.
