Albemarle area, you won’t want to miss a special workshop, “Preservation Is Good Business,” scheduled for Thursday and Friday, May 19-20, in Edenton’s Municipal Building. The workshop is designed to present information on rehabilitation of older buildings and historic preser vation planning. Speakers will be on hand Friday to help with individual preservation pro jects, by answering questions, and offering advice to proper ty owners. The workshop is co sponsored by the Society, the N.C. Division of Archives and History, and the Edenton Woman’s Club. Cinco De Mayo (pronounced Sinko Day My-oh) actually is Spanish. This is the day that Mexico celebrates their independence from France. During the war that led to that independence, two Mex ican families sent their children from Mexico City to Texas for safety. One of the children was a young girl and the other a boy.
