Interested citizens of
Chowan County are making
plans to form a Friends of the
Library group for the
Shepard-Pruden library in
Edenton. A reception for
anyone interested will be held
at the library on Sunday, May
22 at 4:00 P.M.
Some of the functions of a
Friends group are: To inten
sify community awareness
and use of the library; To
- sponsor programs with the
local Arts Council and other
civic clubs; To aid in com
municating the needs of the
community to the staff and
-library board; To create
public interest and support,
especially in the area of
•' preservation of local history.
