May 26, 1982 Letter To The Herald Editor Letter to Editor: The Edenton Jaycees wish > to thank Mr. Johnny Bryant •■and the Staff of Chowan : Hospital for their assistance . and continued support of the Jaycee Bloodmobile. Also, thank you to the Edenton Jaycettes, most notably Claire Mills and Mary Louis Phelps, The Ladies of the Chowan Hospital Auxiliary, and Corin Thorud and The Women of the Edenton Bap tist Church. Without volunteer support from local church and civic groups, town and coun ty government and concerned individuals the Jaycee Blood - mobile could not have achiev ed an average of 125 units of -- blood each visit. Pictured are Shelby White from Chowan County, Nancy Webb from Pasquotank County, Phyllis Timmerman from Camden County and Elizabeth Winslow from Perquimans County. The three day training session is designed to give secretaries from across the state an opportunity to discuss and share information about special projects and other pro grams that relate to Soil and Water Conservation Districts. The workshop is being conducted by the District Programs Section of the Division of Soil and Water in the Dept, of Natural Resources and Community Development. Lighthouse To Provide Counseling There will be a special ministry for youth at the Lighthouse of Elizabeth City on Friday night. Young people of all ages are invited to come out for the ministry, counseling, fellowship or whatever their reason may be. Ministry will begin on both Friday and Saturday at 7:30 P.M. Hey Kids...the Lighthouse will be opening at a new time on Saturday. It will now open at 12 Noon. At 3 P.M. the Lighthouse will be holding something special for children ages 3 to 12.
