Page 9-A The Bandon Chapel Notebook HI, NEIGHBORS! LOVE is a many splendored thing! One of the finest examples of love visibly displayed is seen in the expression on a mother’s face as she looks upon her infant child. Mother and child have no need for words - the mother's eyes (the mirrors of her soul) tell the little one to have no fear; all of its needs, hopes and dreams will be taken care of through the magic of Love. Let love be your greatest aim. It is the miracle-working power that casts out fear and gives us true courage. It is the life-giving strength that tones up the whole body temple. We must learn how to express love to attain happiness and fullness of life. One of the greatest joys in life is to love and to be loved. The Bible tells us that "all the special gifts and powers from God will someday come to an end, but love goes on forever." There is nothing that love can not conquer. Share this verse by Caroline Kotowics with me: "To share joy is to show low. To show love is to know God, To know God is to do good. To do good is to spread happiness. ” -O- On this Lord’s Day, the morning sun beamed a path of light into the house filling it with radiance. Outside, the beauty of God’s handiwork surrounded us - the pure, fresh air was exhilarating. Waters of the mighty Chowan For Ml Os Your Insuranct Needs Contact Allen B. Harless, Jr. EDENTON. Following the Dedication, her father, Thomas Birckhead, sang a meaningful Solo, “Sweet Story": “I wish that His hands had been placed on my head, that His arms had been thrown around me, and that I might have seen His kind look when He said, ‘Let the little ones come unto Me.’’’ — o — List: Alfred, Lord Tennyson tells us “More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of”. WIND AND TARE By William W. Reid I have watched the wind Wind itself among the plants of the field, And then unwind itself ond become A devil-dog twister wind; Only to dissipate itself and become lost Over a large acreage of agricultural land; Suddenly to find itself and to squirt quickly Up and down, in and out, widty about Amongst the tall com and short barley: Rustling, bending, twisting the green foliage With slight sigh and little effort. I have seen the tares of the field Entangle the tallest plants By ensnaring them with their tenuous tendrils. Pulling them ever downward To the tender breast of the tawdry earth Where they flourished among the orthodox cultivars. Causing great loss to the husbandman By becoming an unwanted weedery. Thus, in my life’s walk, I have been subject to wind and tare— Darting, stumbling, dodging, leaping. Unwinding the tares of my mind When they were tightly wound. Like springs on watches. And, when freed, I went skipping Through tare-free feilds And imagined myself to be On snow white billowy clouds, Gliding in long casual sweeps of aerial aticulation. Carefully watching the weather. So that might make these data known To earth's husbandman which he might use In his efforts to feed the rest of us. Although I cannot keep pace With the mind of the wind, / am free to soar to any height Mindless of wind and tare. You and lean take this walk together.
