Contact lenses are a boon to cataract patients and have a number of advantages over glasses. For one thing, they decrease the magnification effect of a strong convex spec tacle lens. Hollowell, Jr., was graduated from the University of Georgia at their graduation exercises on June 11 with cum laude honors. She received her B.S. degree in Interior Design. While at UGA, she was an active member of Phi Mu Outer Banks Tickets are now on sale for the Second Annual Currituck Outer Banks Seafood Festival and Art Show. The festival will be at Corolla, August 6 at noon. Guests will be allowed to travel the private road from Duck on that day. Francis Louis Augustus Francis, 58 Route 3, Edenton, died in the home suddenly on June 22. Mr. Francis, a veteran of World War n and the owner of Gus Francis Auto, was the son of the late Mrs. Lillie Goodwin Francis and the late Louis Ed ward Francis. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ann Dye Francis, three sons: Louis Augustus Fran cis, Jr., Paul T. Francis, William S. Francis all of Edenton; two daughters; Mrs. Patricia Anne Kennedy of Newport News. Virginia and Rebecca Francis of Edenton. Also surviving are two brothers: Thomas E. Francis and Robert M. Francis both of Edenton; three sisters: Mrs. Margaret F. White of Eden ton, Mrs. Catherine Robey of Louisa, Virginia, Mrs. Lillie Mae Stallings of Edenton; and four grandchildren Mr. Francis was a member of the Edenton Baptist Church, Unanimity Lodge no. 7, Scottish Rite Bodies ol New Bern, the Chowan County Shrine Club and American Legion Post 40. Funeral services took place at the Edenton Baptist Church on Friday. June 24. The services were conducted by the Rev. John Allen and the Rev. Ashby Browder. Roughton Charlie Roland Roughton. age 80, died Friday night in the Chowan Hospital. A native of Tyrrell County, he was an Army veteran of World War 11. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Patricia R. Slades of Edenton; one sister, Mrs. Amanda Clifton, and one brother, Herbert Lee Roughton, both of Columbia; and one grandchild. Funeral services were con ducted Sunday at 3 P.M. in the Assembly of Praise church by the Rev. Elmo Daniels. Burial followed in Azalea Memorial Gardens. Mr. Deans was a retired Civil Service worker at the Norfolk Naval Air Station and veteran of World War 11. He was a member of Cape Colony Freewill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was the son of the late Mrs. Bertie Sykes Deans and the late Bert Deans. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Cassie Brown Deans; two daughters: Mrs. Michael L.
