MILES LAYTON/CHOWAN HERALD Let’s just say it like it is - a capella Russian Orthodox music stirred the soul and perhaps brought people closer to God. The sanctuary was packed when the clergy performed recently at St. George’s - which has been undergoing some impressive renovations. Sponsored by the Chowan Arts Council and the church, the a capella group, who dressed in black robes, did not disappoint. The Deanery clergy were also in Edenton for their semi annual retreat. While publishing the words to “Bless the Lord” as a photo doesn’t do the harmony justice, perhaps they serve as a reminder to those readers who acknowledge God’s grace. ^*- w aat s^mw sn «m^ aw »«»«., mm ^ y»t m ww A eAww.
