Water and Pastehoard Is the Simple Remedy Used by Lon Raper Oak Park. J tint- 17.?Lon Raper, ja prominent citizen of this section, j has hit ur n a formula for destroying the menacing .Mexican beanbeotle, which did so much damage thruout this section last year, and desires that the information be passed along to others in this and adjoining counties. In his own words, Mr. Raper describe the simple procedure thus: Take about one box of common sul phur and put into four or five gallons of water; then put the- water full of thick paste boards and allow to ! soak fqi^ twentv-fonr hours, ?l the t oi' which time the paste boards shoi:l<i 1 removed and thorouirhlv dried. Whin the paste hoards are dry put some ??f them into a common bet- smoker and fire up ready for Ij llMft- and enioh? the bCufiS, CaCu ?ud ever v hill of them. Do this one each day just after dark. If you smoke in tin daytime it will kill the beans. Be sure and not try the sulphur without soaking it into the paste board for twenty-four hours as it will kill the beans. By soaking in water some of the acid is taki n out of the sul' phur and it will not injure the plants. The ! beetle.- attacked our garden tills season :.id were about to devour them until we applied the above formula, after which the beetles disappeared. I d> not know what went wit!" them, but they are gone. Now we have fine beans and i will have them to eat in a few days. We apply thi-i remedy every evening ! and now there is not a Lean bug to r be seen in the garden. I hope that others will apply this remedy and raise plenty of b<.ans this season, concludes Mr. Raper. t Cherokee Mills Moves Across The River S ' The Cherokee Roller Mills have been moved across the Hiawa?see River into the building recently conk strutted just beyond the ice plant. e Mr. J.
