Miss Elizabeth Maneval returned to her home in Asheville Monday after spending several days with Miss Emogene Axley. Mrs. E. E. Adams has returned from Knoxviiie, Tenn., where she has been spending several weeks with her mother, Mrs. Susigs. Luther Kisselburg, of Culberson route, brought two hams to town this week that weighed together 118 1-2 pounds. Mr. Kisselburg stated that he tried to sell them at Copperhill but faund no market /or such large hams there. They were purchased by the W. M. Fain Grocery Company and shipped to Atlanta. Mr. Jake Deweese went out Thurs day and L. H. Junior returned with him to join his mother for several days visit. The Town of Murphy has recently purchased for the fire department I from Mr. J. W. Axley, three Fyr 1 Fyters fire extinguishers, one 1 gal- 1 Ion capacity and two 2 1-2 gallon capacity. Also ten gallons of the chemical for refilling known as car bon tetrachloride, which brings the fire department equipment up so complete that it is now prepared for any kind of fire.
