S. Chandrel. Jr. spent several days the first of this week in Asheville. Mr. Sam Parker fo Coalville, N C was a business visitor in Andrews on last Saturday. The funeral of Mr. D. W. C. Piercy was conducted at the Metho dist church on last Saturday after noon, after which he was buried in the Andrews cemetary. The service was conducted by P*ev. Walter J. Miller, assisted by Rev. Eskridge, Rev. Prevost and Rev. Whitaker. Mr. Piercy was one of the oldest residents of this section, he being over eighty-one years of age. Mr. D F. MeHaf'fey was a busi ness visitor in Clay County on Mon day of this week. Mr. J. W. S. Davis was a business visitor in Mturphy on Monday of this week. .Mrs. Purd Tatham was a visitor in Murphy on Tuesday of this week. GRAPE CREEK The Rev. R. C Pipes, of ePach- i tree, preached at Salem Sunday aft- ] ernoon and night. The little infant of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Carroll died on February 2nd, and was buried at Salem on the 3rd. It leaves a father, mother, and two sisters, Gladys and Evanelle, one brother, William, besides a host of ; relatives. Misses Bessie Crain and Martha Mayfield spent the week-end with home folks. Misses Josephine and Grace Dock ery spent Saturday night with their brother, Mr. and MVs. Ralph Dock ery. Felix Hoover, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Bartley Peek, has been real sick but is much better at this writ ling. Dr. W. O. Patton is the attend ing physician Mr. Felix Chastain is visiting his father-in-law, Mr. John Willim&on at present. Uncle John is improving some. He has had a bad case of blood poisoning. Mrs. Laura Freeman and Mrs. Osie Belle McLemore spent Sunday with Mrs. James Timpson. Mrs. Minnie Capps and little daughter, Frances, spent Tuesday with her sister, Mrs. Bonnie Fisher. Mrs. Lillie Hunsucker has be en spending several days with Mrs. James Timpson and family but has now returned to her home. Mr. Kenneth Rose spent Sunday night with Mr. Bailey Coleman Messrs. W. J.
