I A?L MURPHY he Leading (Tei Volume 1VL.?No. 27 SUBSCRIPT PRIZE AGRICULTURAL PLAN WILL BE BEGUN BY TVA Mass Meeting Called To Hear Plan In Court House Saturday The (Tennessee Valley Authority's plan to aid in e Ublishing demonstration farms throughout Cherokee county will be discussed at a general iv.ass meeting in the courthouse in I Murphy Saturday afternoon at 1 I o'clock, A. Q. Ketner, county agent, announced Tuesday. All farnieis in the county have been asked to be present ut the meeting at which W. IVV. Imndes, admistrative assistant of the agricultural division of the TVA, will explain the plan. The tenative program, Mr. Ketner said, calls for the establishment of 20 demonstration farms in the county under TVA supervision. The local program is part of the general plan of the Authority to establish similar demonstration farms throughout the Tennessee valley territory. The Cherokee county meeting follows the launching of the plan in Western North Carolina at a meeting: of county agents and representatives heid in Asheville last Friday where the gathering unanimously adopted thcTVA proposal to *har* in benefiting the agricultural status of this section through the demonstration farm method. "The >TViA wants to help the farming industry of this section," Mr. Ketner said, "and I believe the farmers of Cherokee county will show they are interested and fhat they will qualify for the benefits of the program which is optional in the TVA territory." The store is located in the building formerly occupied by the C. B Hill furniture company as has recently been thoroughly renovated by the firm of Snyder and Long which ow.13 stores >n Bryson iCty and Sylva. Both the interior and the outside of the building have been refinished with attractive modern decorations. Murphy Teams Will Play Hayesville Here The Murphy Boomers will attempt to continue their winning streak on the basketball court when they meet with Hayesville team here Friday night at 7 o'clock in the local gymnasium. Both the girls' team and the boys' team wil play assuring two good fast games to tihe local spectators. Dr. Heighway's Office Dr. S. C. Heighway, Murphy doctor and c-'inty coroner, will move his. office o.er the new building now occupied by the Murphy Supply company, he announced this week.
